To pupils attending the Chateau de Sauveterre, their families
and friends - welcome to the Peyloubère website.
For over ten years it has been a great pleasure to welcome Sauveterre
families to the Domaine de Peyloubère. The cottages and B&B suites have offered a
temporary home to many families during exeats and half-terms. On several
occasions, parents or grand-parents have even taken up residence for a month or
more to enjoy life in France at the same time as their children are discovering
it.
We are acutely aware that the time spent 'en famille' is very precious to
children, parents and friends alike. We have therefore learnt from
experience and designed our long weekend package to respond to your needs and
requests. So whether the priority is to get out and about and explore the
area, or to relax and just be 'at home' for a few days' respite from the fun and
excitement of school life, Peyloubère will provide you with the comfort,
convenience, facilities and flexibility which will make your stay a happy and a
memorable one.
- Accommodation - we offer either self catering cottages OR bed and
breakfast
- Prices - special all-inclusive package for Sauveterre
families including substantial discount, end-of-stay
clean and shopping service
- Facilities - heated swimming pool, Spa, fishing lake, 35-acre park,
WiFi - and that's just at Peyloubere!
Accommodation
Bed and Breakfast - 'The Garden Room', 'The Cavaglieri Suite' and
'les Rosiers'
In the
south-east wing of the listed 17th century Manoir, Peyloubère offers two suites of rooms, each for two people and available all the year round for a
single night or long stay. Due to an increasing demand for B&B from
Sauveterre families, we have added comfortable sofabeds to both suites making a
spacious family room with bathroom and a superb family suite with two bedrooms
and bathroom, each for three people. Both suites have comfortable seating,
dining table and chairs and there is a fridge in the downstairs entrance hall
for cold drinks and snack foods. Go to Chambre
d'hote for further details of these suites.
From September to June we offer 'les Rosiers' to Sauveterre
families either as a self-catering cottage or as a Bed and Breakfast
suite. Either way the accommodation is for two adults and two
children. Go to Self Catering
and then select 'les Rosiers' for full details of the
accommodation.

Facilities
...at Peyloubère
Peyloubère is a beautiful 17th century
château estate set in
35 acres of parkland, gardens and tall trees. The river Gers flows through
part of the estate and there is a wooded island and fishing lake as well as a
large football lawn, badminton and table tennis. Each cottage has a library of books and
there is a central collection of indoor and outdoor games, dvds, videos and
music.
The heated fresh water swimming pool (12 x 6m) is usually open
from April to November and is heated from May to October. The
health Spa is available all year round and includes a sauna, 5-person
therapeutic spa, jet shower, sunbathing terrace and private garden.
...within a ten minute drive
- Auch, the regional capital of the Gers with two
colourful markets, a wide variety of cafés and restaurants, modern and
traditional shopping as well as its superb Cathedral (a Unesco world
heritage site) and 'Pousterles' or Old Town.
- Horse-riding - there is a riding school in Pavie and
two further stables offering schooling and hacking through the woods and
sunflower fields.
- Vert en l'Air - a tree-top acrobatic park with
challenges suitable for all ages
...and further afield
For those who wish to
explore further afield, there are historic buildings, Armagnac châteaux, medieval villages and fortified towns too numerous to
mention. The great mountains of the Pyrénées are less than an
hour's drive away, as are the towns of Pau, Condom, Albi, Lourdes, Toulouse and
many more. Biarritz and the Atlantic coast, the Spanish border and beyond
and the spectacular scenery and cheap shopping of Andorra - all are within a few
