Domaine de Peyloubère

Where we are

Domaine de Peyloubère is situated in the Department of Le Gers in South West France.  The 35-acre estate lies just outside the village of Pavie which is 10 minutes south of Auch, the capital of the Gers.

Accessibility

Several airports serve the area, the closest being Toulouse (Blagnac) which is 55 minutes east of Auch, and then Pau which is approximately 90 minutes away.  Bordeaux, Carcassonne and Biarritz are approximately a two hour drive from Peyloubère.  In addition, the Motorail (Autotrain) runs from Paris to Toulouse and Tarbes throughout the holiday season.  Some summers there has also been a service direct from Calais to Toulouse - check with SNCF.  There is a regular train service from Paris all year round, including the night train with first and second-class couchettes.   Click on Travel Information for further details. 

This Google Map has the Google marker located at the entrance to the round rose garden. The River Gers flows in at the bottom and if you zoom in you should be able to make out the waterfall. Towards the top centre of the map you can see the larger of Peyloubere's two lakes surrounded by trees. The smaller lake is hidden in the wood to the right. The two swimming pools are shown with their winter covers in place.

Within a short walk .......

The village of Pavie provides all everyday needs.  Croissants and bread are baked twice daily and there is a pharmacie as well as a bank, post office and small general store for groceries, wines and fresh produce, and a 'BIO' shop selling organically grown produce and dried goods.  There is a riding school in the village.  The nearest local restaurant is the 'Stromboli Pizzeria' for wood-fired takeaways or a more leisurely and varied meal in the restaurant and there is also 'Pawich', a sandwich and snack café and the El Gallego Bar in the centre of the village. 

The bank, post office, boulangerie and pharmacie are all within 1.5 km (1 mile) of Peyloubere. The Bio shop is just a little further and the general store and Pizzeria are about 2 km away.

Within a five minute drive .......

The Supermarkets of Carrefour and Leader Price are a few minutes drive away, as is the excellent general hospital.  Leader Price and the small general store on the outskirts of Pavie are open on Sunday mornings.

Within a ten minutes drive ........

The busy centre of Auch is 10 minutes drive away and has everything expected of a regional capital - two colourful markets, a wide variety of cafés and restaurants and modern and traditional shopping.  Auch Cathedral is world-famous (It is a Unesco World Heritage Site) and exhibitions, concerts, music and theatre festivals take place all the year round .  Click on Things to do for further details.
