Travel Information

By Air

Many airports serve the area.  The closest is Toulouse (Blagnac) which is 55 minutes east of Auch and then Pau which is about 90 minutes away.  Bordeaux, Biarritz and Carcassonne are all approximately two hours drive from Peyloubčre.

There are now far more direct (and cheap) flights than there were a few years ago and they are getting more frequent all the time. All of these airports have car hire facilities.

The following is a current (October '06) list of airlines flying to SW France from the UK and Ireland. We only list destination airports within a 2 hrs drive of Peyloubere.

Car Hire

By Rail

The Motorail (Autotrain) runs from Paris to Toulouse and Tarbes throughout the holiday season. Some summers there has also been a service direct from Calais to Toulouse.

There is a regular service between Paris (Austerlitz) and Toulouse throughout the year, including the night train with either first or second class couchettes.

By Road

The quickest route between Calais and Toulouse via Paris is 900 km and takes 9 1/2 hours.  The route is by autoroute - Calais, Paris, Orleans, Tours, Poitiers (Futuroscope makes a good stopover!), Bordeaux then leave autoroute A62 at Agen and take the N.21 to Auch. 

The route from Cherbourg to Toulouse is slightly shorter at 882 km (9 hours). 

There are several routes using a combination of autoroute and RN roads which pass through wonderful scenery and many lovely towns.  It is recommended that two days are taken for these with an overnight stop around Orleans or at Poitiers.  The following give an outline of just a few of the possible routes.

From Calais

A16 Calais, Abbeville, Amiens, Paris A26 Calais - Arras then the A1 to Paris Avoiding Paris - A16 Calais, Abbeville then A28 to Rouen, then N154 to Chartres via Evreux and Dreux.  
A10 to Orleans A10 to Orleans Then either continue on N154 to Orleans OR .......
A71 to Vierzon then A20 to Cheateauroux N20 to Vierzon then D918 to Issoudun and N151 to Chateauroux From Chartres, take the N10 to Chateaudun, then the D924 to Blois and the D956 to Chateauroux

Take the N20 and A20 to Limoges and then:

either or
take the N21 to Perigueux, Bergerac, Agen and Auch. take N20 and A20 to Brive-la-Gaillarde and on to Souillac, Cahors and Montauban.  From Montauban, take the D928 and N124 to Auch.  

However you eventually get to Auch, it is then only a few minutes drive to Peyloubčre. The directions are given on: Directions from Auch
