The Estate
Domaine
de Peyloubčre
Peyloubčre is a beautiful 17th century Gascony
estate set in 35 acres
of parkland, gardens and tall trees. The river Gers flows through part of the
estate and the murmur of the waterfall is a constant reminder of its
presence. There is a large island, lakes and a secluded summerhouse
secreted in the woods. The grounds are a magical mixture of unspoiled natural
beauty, old stone buildings and landscaping and are there to be enjoyed by our
guests.
Swimming pools and
Spa |

 |
Guests to the
self-catering cottages have use of the 40' heated fresh water swimming pool.
The
pool and surrounding paved area is enclosed by a fence and two self-closing
gates. The shady lawn
and spacious 'au vent' provide a beautiful and peaceful environment for games,
barbeques or just relaxing in the sun. Sun shades, loungers and tables and
chairs are plentiful and there is a large table and benches in the 'au vent' so
that guests can be as separate or sociable as they wish!
There is a second pool for the use of your hosts, and guests to the
chambres
d'hôte also use this pool during July and August. The old pig house has been converted to provide a Spa for the health
and enjoyment of all our guests.
The pig house is a
magical little building, roofed in the same old curved tiles as the Manoir and
is separated from the cottages and their gardens to offer a peaceful alternative to
the pool for relaxation and sunbathing. The garden with its own terrace,
loungers and sun shade, is fenced for privacy. Within the building there
is a Scandinavian solid wood sauna and a 5-person Somethy Spa, this company
being the leaders in hydrotherapy in France.
There is also a jet shower, WC and
comfortable seating.

Bohemian history
Peyloubčre is
classified as a 'Monument Historique' by virtue of the fact that it was the home
of the Italian painter and sculptor, Mario Cavaglieri, for over forty years. Unique legacies of his ownership are the bohemian atmosphere of the
Domaine, the elegant Italian garden and the frescoed ceilings and walls in many
of the rooms of the Manoir, including several of those devoted to the chambres
d'hôte. Click on Mario Cavaglieri
and Chambre d'hote
